Hydrogen Storage Design Conforms to ISO Standard Durable for thousands of usage
In addition to the core technology of power system, infrastructure of hydrogen supply also determines the success of whole system operation. APFCT’s unique low pressure hydrogen storage canister protected by our patents offer a shortcut to realize fast deployment of fuel cell light vehicles.
Safety — Conforms to ISO 16111 (Transportable gas storage devices — Hydrogen absorbed in reversible metal hydride) — Conforms to ISO 7866 (Gas cylinders — Refillable seamless aluminium alloy gas cylinders — Design, construction and testing) — Conforms to China standardization Administration GB/T 34544-2017 (Safety test methods for onboard low pressure hydrogen storage devices for small fuel cell vehicles) — Metal hydride rated as the safest hydrogen storage method by the US Department of Energy — Low gas pressure of under 147 psig (1 MPa) — No explosion risk, even when canister is damaged — Self-limiting gas release rate
Convenience: — Perfect size to use and carry — Quick connection— easy to connect and disconnect canisters to refuel hydrogen efficiently — Unique hydrogen exchange concept: exchange can be easily done by a vending machine located in convenience stores or anywhere.
Cost efficient: — Convenient exchange system dramatically reduce the cost of infrastructure and greatly helps to build the hydrogen supply network in a shorter time period.
Low pressure hydrogen storage infrastructure
APFCT have developed metal hydride hydrogen storage for fuel cell powered scooters, along with a range of other fuel cell light vehicles, as a safe and handy solution. We have completed the operational planning for a low pressure hydrogen storage infrastructure with immediate availability. This concept has been socially validated in a demonstration under real-life conditions held in Kenting, southern Taiwan from 2012 to 2013. During the demonstration APFCT operated gasoline stations, convenience stores and even the police station in Kenting as canister exchange centers. This network was a huge success and proved the efficiency of the scooter and hydrogen canister systems beyond doubt.
