Hydrogen Fuel Cells, Taiwan and China Will Sign Common Standards in August

China is deployed its layout on new energy industry for the development of emerging strategic industrials. More than trillion of business opportunity is expecting in new energy industry. Among all, hydrogen fuel cell is the most promising star and is included in the research project for establishing the cross-strait common standards
It is understood that the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China will sign the agreement as early as the end of August. With the common standards, hydrogen fuel cell scooters can enter mass production and commercialization. The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan evaluates that the production target of 2015 is 100,000 units and main export markets are South China and Southeast Asia. This will be a good reborn opportunity for Taiwan industry.
Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan, Woody Tyzz-Jiun Duh endorsed for the standard verification project of hydrogen fuel cell scooter and pointed out that BSMI and National Science Council corporated with several governmental agencies, including Electronics Testing Centre, Taiwan, Metal Industries Research & Development Centre, Automotive Research & Testing Centre, etc., for this world first and largest on-road fuel cell scooter fleet test. 30 fuel cell scooters are all equipped with GPRS to capture real time data. Total mileage is more than 120,000 km. Mr. Duh stated that on-road test drive is to verify the safety standards and reliability and this is the key toward fuel cell scooter commercialization.
Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan, sets out the production target of hydrogen fuel cell scooter as 100,000 units for 2015. The annual production of scooters in Mainland China is more than 27,000,000 units. Regardless of “scooter restriction order”, China will be the largest market.
